This sounded great!

I waited a week of continual use before writing this review.
Having read the description, I was intrigued by the combination of Sandalwood, Cardamom & Oud. This sounded great!

Opening the box, there was a faint odour that reminded me of earthy Tibetan incense, which was pleasant .
Given that these are 'premium' I had great expectations. However, I was disappointed at the lack of "distinctly refreshing" or "lovely spicy, sweet smell aroma" of the previous reviews.
I understand that there are subtleties within incense, but I was getting none of these fragrances apart from the base carrier wood smoke.

I like to widen my collection of incense and enjoy exploring new, unusual and interesting scents. I seldom if ever write a negative review and really wanted to love this Japanese style incense, but this one doesn't deliver the promise.

Refreshing

Refreshing isn't a word I'd use with most incenses, but this one is distinctly refreshing. Compared to other incenses which can feel smokey and make it harder to breathe, this one seems to almost have the opposite effect. Perhaps this smells like the fresh open air the nomads of Mongolia breathed.

Nice ‘n’ Spicy

This has a lovely spicy, sweet smell aroma in the box which is reflected in the combusted fragrance. It fills the room and persists for a long time. Wonderful.
